Contributing to the cleanliness of the James River promotes the vitality of Richmond overall, and empowering youth to take on a role in preserving the river’s diverse ecosystem prepares the next generation of environmentalists to safeguard the river’s health. Restoration of creeks that feed the James River offer opportunities for education and community building activities that help renew adjacent neighborhoods and improve quality of life among residents.

Working with the James River Park System, James River Association, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and other partners, Groundwork RVA participants work on a variety of projects to promote healthy urban waters.
